Our aquarium stands are designed for specific tank sizes. For example, the Flipper stand supports either a standard 10-gallon or 20-gallon tank, depending on its orientation. While these stands are made with specific tank footprints and weights in mind, they can accommodate in-between sized tanks if the following conditions are met:
-
Weight Capacity: Ensure the tank does not exceed the stand's weight limit. For instance, a 13- or 15-gallon tank, or one that is taller than it is wide, should not be placed on a surface designated for 10-gallons, as it may exceed the weight capacity.
-
Fit: The tank should not hang over the edge of the stand. "20-gallon long" tanks usually won’t fit on a surface designed for 20-gallon tanks, even if they are within the weight limit. Always check that the tank dimensions do not surpass those of the stand.
