Components of the Wall Bed Mechanism:
-
The wall bed mechanism consists of a metal frame, a folding leg that tucks away when the bed is closed, and pivot arms that allow the mechanism to fold up and down along a fixed pivot point.
-
Pressurized gas pistons are included in the assembly. These pistons regulate the amount of force needed to open and close the wall bed mechanism and door, or front decorative panels, when the recommended amount of weight is placed on the bed frame.
Piston Operation:
-
The pistons are relaxed when the bed is in the closed position and compressed when it is open. During assembly, you may notice the pistons come extended, allowing the metal frame to be attached according to the instructions.
Safe Operation Tips:
-
When opening or closing a wall bed, keep a hand on it at all times. If you let go, the bed will continue to open or close depending on its position in the trajectory.
-
There is no exact point where the bed will stay still on its own; this depends on the size of the bed and the exact weight of the mattress.
