Fireplace inserts are attached in one of two ways:
1. Metal tabs - which can be found at the front of the insert, as depicted in the photo on the left. Because these fireplaces are intended to be used within an Ameriwood product, the wings are incorporated into the design of our TV stands and mantels and cannot be seen once installed. This allows the insert to be secured from within the unit.
2. Angle or L brackets - If a fireplace insert is intended to be sold separately, it would not include the metal tabs, allowing the customer more options for mounting. Instead, angle or L brackets would be included with the insert, which would attach at the rear of the fireplace.
Model 7250096COM is an example of this. While mounting may be different for these fireplaces, much of the operation and setup is the same. Cords, for example, all attach at the upper right side of the fireplace insert, as depicted below:
Some mantels and TV stands will make use of both angle brackets and the metal tabs. Always follow the assembly instructions carefully so that the fireplace insert is properly secured.
