Have you ever noticed that once you unpack an item, it never fits back into the box as neatly as before? We understand that this can make returning items difficult and storage a chore. Precision packaging is designed to prevent damage during shipping. Extra space in the box can lead to damaged parts, so all components are strategically placed and supported with foam and other materials to keep them secure. Even though this is true of every item we ship, the packaging is different between in-store and internet items.
Differences in Packaging: Store vs. Internet Items
- Store Items: Products sold in stores are carefully stacked on pallets with other boxes of the same shape and weight. The pallets are then wrapped in plastic to prevent damage during transit. This method has a lower risk of damage compared to online items.
- Internet Items: Online retailers use third-party carriers to quickly deliver goods. These items are shipped with boxes of various shapes and sizes, often handled by multiple people. To ensure safety, we evaluate our products using the ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) method. Compression and drop tests are done to check that parts remain free from damage and packaging is often assessed to ensure it is as effective as possible.
While no packaging method is completely foolproof, these measures significantly reduce the chances of damage during delivery.
