The Lumina Fireplace TV Stand first launched in 2019 with the blue side and ember lights exclusive to the FA23V60L-C6 fireplace insert. In April of 2021, an upgrade was made to include color changing side and ember lights with either a black (FA23V60L-C7) or silver (FA23V60L-C8) frame for the fireplace insert. In the wake of this change there have been many questions about how the lighting features work, and this article will answer the most frequently asked.
- Can the ember lights be turned off? No. The ember lights are connected to the side lights and these work in conjunction with the power button. They turn on when the unit is turned on and turn off when the unit is turned off.
- What is dynamic mode? Dynamic mode is the D1 display selection for the ember and side lights or the L1 display for the flame. There are seven color options available for each, and dynamic mode automatically cycles through these at about 13 seconds intervals.
- Can I use just the flame without the heat? Yes. The heat functions independently from the flame and can be turned off for warm summer nights.
- Can I use the heat without any lights? No. While it is possible to turn the flame off, the ember and side lights will remain illuminated until the unit is turned off. One of the requirements for certification through CSA/UL/ETL testing laboratories is that there should be a visible indication that the heater is on, and this fulfills that requisite.
- Can the flame be on without any other lights? No. While the flame can be turned off, the ember bed and side lights will stay on whenever the fireplace is in use.
- How do I turn the flame off? The flame will cycle through the various displays and turn off between L1 and L8
- Is it possible to have the shelves one color and the ember bed another? No. Because the ember bed and side lights are synchronized, it is not possible for them to be different colors.
- Can the side lights be turned off? No. The shelf lights are connected to the ember lights and these work in conjunction with the power button. They turn on or off automatically with the unit.
- How can I get the flame color to match the ember/side lights? Not every flame color is an exact match to every ember/side light color. While each has the same number of colors options--7 plus a dynamic or color-changing mode (see below)--some of the flame colors are complex, or combinations. While it would be feasible to have a red flame and red ember/side light combo, it would not be possible to have a purple flame and ember bed/side lights.
