Fix-It Kits are made of the same 2mm HDC (high-density cardboard) material as the back panel, and they are roughly the size of a standard school ruler. Their purpose is to tighten up the space between the side of the dresser or cabinet just enough that drawer, slides, and side panels can more snuggly fit together, preventing drawers from falling off their tracks. They are a good remedy regardless of the reason for the looseness, which might occur through either an assembly error or something slightly off during manufacturing. While they are not a cure-all, if drawers are too loose and seem to have trouble staying on track, one of our representatives might recommend a fix-it kit to quickly and easily solve this problem.
What to Expect:
A fix-it-kit includes a set of two HDC strips and three screws per drawer, and we will send you one set for each drawer on your model. Chances are, if you have been fussing with your drawers, tightening and retightening the screws, you might be ready for some fresh and these are intended to replace any that might have been overworked. Three of the four holes in the HDC strip will line up with the three predrilled holes on the side panel and on your cabinet slide member. For help identifying these parts click here. While these are primarily used with euro/kitchen slides, they will also match up with two of the holes on the 3/4 or full extension slides.
Assembly:
1. Remove the drawer slide members that are attached to the side panels.
2. Line up the access holes in the fix-it kit with those of the slide member and reattach using the new screws. This will tighten up the space a total of 4mm, 2mm on each side and should correct drawers that seem too small to fit into their drawer slot.
3. Reinsert the drawer. If more adjustment is needed, please contact customer service.
