Building drawers can be time-consuming, especially in six and seven drawer units. Although drawer components can vary by model, many use plastic corner pieces, drawer brackets, and drive fasteners.
Plastic hardware can be surprisingly resilient, which is wonderful for keeping drawers together. Each fastener has four sets of teeth for gripping the sides of each predrilled hole:
These hardware components connect to the drawer sides, which are symmetrical, if not in every case identical. The size of the predrilled holes for both drawer brackets and drive fasteners are the same, and that may cause some confusion. The assembly instructions provide very good depictions of how each piece connects but if a mistake is made it should be fixable.
Fixing Mistakes: If a mistake is made, use a thin object to separate the panels.
Disclosure: Using table knives as tools can be handy, but it’s better to use multiple flat head screwdrivers to avoid bending them.
